Don’t Say It

Unless people experience adversity, or know somebody who has one, it is easy to say the wrong things. Here is a short list of what not to say:

  1. You look fine to me.
  2. You are just lazy.
  3. You can’t do anything right.
  4. Do you have any idea how much I do for you?
  5. You are wasting your second chance at life.
  6. You are worthless.
  7. You are never right.

Even after brain surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments to eradicate his brain cancer, Scott continued to work; continued to study; and earned professional certifications from the Project Management Institute, American Society of Quality, and Stanford University School of Professional Development. How were all of these achievements possible at a time when Scott was struggling with the hurdles of brain injury? The answers are in this blog.
