Lessons in Life from Dr. Seuss

2015-0302 Dr Seuss Quotes

When I was very young, my mom and dad read Dr. Seuss books to me. When I was a little older, I read Dr. Seuss books to my parents. After my brain surgery, I read Dr. Seuss books to myself, to prove to myself I could still read and understand a short story. If he had not died, Dr. Seuss would be 111 today.

Although I am fairly sure Dr. Suess quotes did not specifically pertain to those of us who experienced major medical adversities, many of his book and quotes seem oddly specific to overcoming adversity.

Even after brain surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments to eradicate his brain cancer, Scott continued to work; continued to study; and earned professional certifications from the Project Management Institute, American Society of Quality, and Stanford University School of Professional Development. How were all of these achievements possible at a time when Scott was struggling with the hurdles of brain injury? The answers are in this blog.
