When I started this blog a few years ago, I mailed hundreds of letters to religious leaders and scholars around the world. I mailed at least a dozen letters to representatives of the 14 major faiths. My request was that the leaders and scholars share a short article in English about how their faith addresses recovery of those affected by brain injury or other life-threatening adversity. I invited respondents to share a link to their website and any other website where people could learn more about the belief system. I received only a few responses, and I shared all of them regardless of whether or not I personally agreed with the beliefs.
This is not a religious or spiritual blog, but there is no doubt in my mind that religion and spirituality are extremely important to the recovery process. Brain injury and life-threatening adversity can affect anyone, regardless of their religion.
Click here only if you are willing to read an article about brain injury published in a religiously affiliated magazine. By the way, the article is very long, but the three videos in the article are short and summarize the article very well.
If you or someone you know is willing to share a Wish for Recovery article or video, please contact me through the blog’s Contact page.
Thank you to Bing for helping me find the picture; Google for helping me find the article; and all other people who, directly or indirectly, made it possible for me to include the picture and text I used in this post.
