I first heard the poem long before I started Beyond Adversity. A few years later, cancer obliterated, scrambled, and hid many of my memories — including memories of the poem. Recently, Fantastic Frank mentioned to poem in one of his posts. Nearly 10 years have passed since I first heard the poem, but thanks to Linda Ellis (who wrote the poem) and Fantastic Frank (who shared the poem), I now present to you “The Dash.”

Even after brain surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments to eradicate his brain cancer, Scott continued to work; continued to study; and earned professional certifications from the Project Management Institute, American Society of Quality, and Stanford University School of Professional Development. How were all of these achievements possible at a time when Scott was struggling with the hurdles of brain injury? The answers are in this blog.
